FAQ

What happens during a Locked In writing session?

Our goal is to provide a community space to write with other writers. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, we Lock In to get it done.We write together every Friday from 9 - 10AM US Eastern. Our writing sessions typically follow the format below.9:00 - 9:05: Everyone is invited to answer a quick question about their week or what they're working on
9:05 - 9:50: Write quietly and independently, with music selected by that day's facilitator
9:50 - 10:00: Optional breakout rooms to discuss how the session went (or continue writing in the main room)

Why is your Substack private?

We want Locked In to be a safe and private space for BIPOC and global majority writers to build community. Requests to join Locked In will be approved by Locked In's organizers.

What rules do members have to follow?

We only have one rule: no bigotry in this space.
While freedom of thought is encouraged, all Locked In members are expected to treat each other with care and to prioritize uplifting fellow BIPOC and global majority writers.
